Harvard Developments to Build a Pedway in Downtown Regina


REGINA, May 22nd, 2008 - Harvard Developments Inc. has reaffirmed its strong commitment to Downtown Regina with the announcement today of a brand new above ground climate controlled pedestrian linkage between Agriculture Place and Conexus Plaza across Hamilton Street.

 

“This new linkage is an exciting sign of prosperity in our City and will facilitate the growth needs of a number of the downtown tenants, particularly Farm Credit Canada,” said Rosanne Hill Blaisdell, Vice President of Leasing with Harvard. “Connecting the two office buildings will make it easier for Head Offices like Farm Credit Canada to conduct business and keep their people downtown. The sustainability of our core business district and the viability of many merchants absolutely depend on maintaining this critical mass of people in the heart of our City. “

 

Through the granting of the development permit for this pedestrian linkage, the City of Regina continues to demonstrate its commitment to partnerships with the private sector and its support of initiatives which maintain a strong base of offices Downtown.

 

“This pedway is consistent with the direction of the new Downtown Planning Study and its focus on the pedestrian as the key design element in the Downtown,” said Mayor Pat Fiacco. “The pedway is part of an extensive pedestrian network of sidewalks and enhanced streetscaping.”


Interior construction has commenced on the two office towers with exterior construction scheduled to start at the beginning of June 2008.  The entire project is expected to be completed by the first week of November.

 

Harvard Broadcasting Launches FM Radio Station in Saskatoon


SASKATOON April 11th, 2008 – Due to the influx of Santa FM caller “feedback”, we decided to made a few changes and send the Jolly Man in Red packing to the North Pole. In place of Santa Radio 96.3 FM Harvard Broadcasting is excited to announce the launch of Saskatoon’s NEW Music Channel… WIRED 96.3 is now on the air!

WIRED 96.3 is a young, fresh and fun radio station actively targeting young adults with new music, new voices and a high energy sound…a first in Saskatoon! We’ll feature the biggest hits from artists like Kanye West, Linkin Park, T-Pain, Buckcherry and Chris Brown. We’ll be prompt to deliver the latest local news and information affecting our community. We will be active in the community, covering and supporting initiatives and key issues that affect Saskatoon.

We’ve hired amazing talent from across the country… Wake up to the Marc Michaels Morning show with Cassie and Blake and drive home from work with Bender and Brandy. To round things out, evenings and weekends feature Trouble and DJ T Bone. This is a talented group of individuals who can’t wait to show Saskatoon how great radio can sound.

Fairways West, Regina, Saskatchewan


The groudbreaking of our newest residential community, loacted in Northwest Regina, took place in the fall of 2005. The setting of this new community, surrounded on three sides by green space and overlooking the Goulet Golf Course, makes its location very desirable. The majority of the fust phase is sold out and servicing of the second phase is well underway.

A street naming dedication in honour of Gordon W. Stasesonn, recognizing his contributions to the City and Harvard Developments, took place in October of 2006. The main collector street running through the community was dedicated in his honour by Paul Hill who was assisted by Mayor Pat Fiacco and Tom Shepherd. Plans for the third phase of this popular community are presently in the works.




Century Plaza, Regina, Saskatchewan


The re-development of the old Hudson's Bay is well underway and is expected to be completed in spring 2006. Saskatchewan Property Management has purchased approximately 70% of the building which will become their new head office. Harvard Broadcasting will also join SPM at Century Plaza.



Eau Claire Market, Calgary, Alberta


The pre-development planning of this marquee project in downtown Calgary is well underway with involvement from the architects and City Planning department. At completion, this project is anticipated to house 600 residential units, a boutique hotel, 100,00 sq. ft. of retail space and approximately 1,000 underground parking stalls.


Taber, Alberta
Harvard is 1/3 owner of this 25 acre commercial site in Taber located along Highway 36. Walmart's construction is virtually complete with their grand opening scheduled for February 2006. Boston Pizza and Tim Horton's have also started construction and expect to open for business sometime in spring or summer of 2006.


Trans Canada Centre, Regina, Saskatchewan
Harvard is in the planning stages for a 90 acre large format retail/mixed use project for the corner of Lewvan Drive and Highway #1 in south west Regina. The vision for this site is one of mixed use, with large format retail being present, as well as restaurans, entertainment and highway service uses. This project will be a main focus for Harvard during 2006.



Century Point Business Park, Edmonton, Alberta


Construction for Century Point Business Park, Harvard's newest Industrial Park, is now complete. Consisting of 30 acres of land fronting onto 111th Avenue (the major east-west arterial), Century Point Business Park will appeal to tenants ranging from retail uses through showroom industrial, right up to large scale distribution tenancies. Century Point Business Park will soon be one of Edmonton's premiere industrial addresses with rent already commencing for both Danka and Federal Public Works with Fabric Care rent commencement expected in April 2006. Subdivision of the remaining 4 acres in Phase I adjacent to the 64,000 sq. ft. building is currently underway as we expect to sell this portion of land in the near future. Phase II land is now under conditional purchase. The sale of 1.5 acres of Phase III has recently been sold to a Suburu dealership with conditional land sales for the remaining land in Phase III.



Windermere Crossing, Edmonton, Alberta


Windermere Crossing is one of Harvard's newest and most exciting projects. Harvard has made a significant commitment to this new area in Southwest Edmonton and are currently involved in 700 acres of land in numerous joint ventures with the majority of their active involvement being a 100 acre commercial site. Plans are to market a Hybrid Centre featuring an exterior 55 acre row of a conventional box campus environment and an interior 45 acre lifestyle centre encouraging a main street themed, pedestriam-oriented fashion, entertainment and residential development. Construction will likely commence in the spring of 2007.


Thatcher Crossing, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
This two phase development consists of approximately 7 acres of land within the City of Moose Jaw. Phase I tenants consist of Staples, Mark's Work Wearhouse, Payless Shoes, First Choice Haircutters and Reitmans and is nearly fully leased with the remaining space being a potential 4,000 sq. ft. pad which is yet to be built.



Preston Crossing, Regina, Saskatchewan


Harvard recently acquired TGS and Rencor's interest in Preston Crossing and is now 100% owner of this project. Construction for Phase II could begin as early as spring 2006 with Phase III leasing moving along nicely.
